Inspiring the Next Generation of Vocalists
Vocal music is a contantly evolving artform. I believe every choir has the potential to sound modern, creative, and connected. Singing in the contemporary a cappella style is one of the best ways to make it happen.
I first fell in love with vocal music in my high school vocal jazz group. I couldn’t have enough, so in my senior year I started an a cappella quartet to perform at the grand march at our prom. From there I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and studied under René Clausen in the Concordia Choir. My degree in classical vocal performance and opera served as a spring board to sing in more ‘contemporary’ styles, utilizing healthy tone and classically trained fundamentals. During my freshman year at Concordia, I was one of the founding members of Six Appeal Vocal Band. After graduation in 2010, we chased that passion into a career and made our dreams a reality.
As a world-touring vocalist, arranger, audio engineer, and educator, I’ve spent years helping ensembles around the world discover their sound, refine their blend, and bring their performances to life. Whether your group is just starting out or already has experience on stage, I can help your students grow as confident, expressive performers.
Workshops & Clinics
Bring the excitement of contemporary a cappella into your classroom! Whether your goal is to start a brand new ensemble or chase down back-to-back national titles our sessions are tailored to your ensemble’s skill level. We can focus on:
• Vocal technique & tone shaping for pop and a cappella styles
• Groove, blend, and balance — building a unified modern sound
• Beatboxing and extended vocal techniques, such as imitating instruments
• Stage presence & performance skills for live or competition settings
• Arranging & group leadership — helping students take creative ownership
• Sound design & mic technique for amplified performance
• Designing presets for your sound board so your set sounds consistently great every time
Each workshop is designed to engage your students, strengthen your music program, and leave everyone inspired to create harmony together in fresh new ways.
Great sound transforms performances on stage and in the studio.
Through years of experience mixing, producing, and performing a cappella professionally, I understand the unique demands of vocal music: every frequency matters, every part counts, and every detail should serve the emotion of the song.
